Final Portfolio Selfie

This is my Final Portfolio for my UWRT 1103 class. I am on the left with the sunglasses and a fellow classmate is holding my papers for me. One of the rules stated we must contain movement. Which as you can see if demonstrated by the movement of the water from the fountain in the background. Also there is movement on my chest. My friend Bennett is holding my paper one draft two story about aliens. My paper two draft two about pirates, and a copy of one of my favorite slip inquiry journals. He is also holding the sheet music to the song Selfie. Since it was only fitting. I am holding a miniature globe in my hand. The reason being that my first paper was titled "The Runaway Marble". This is a reference to aliens finding Earth.

This is a reflection of my work I have done this semester. This picture was taken at the pond near the high rises on campus.

This is an example of how I used color to enhance my text without disrupting the readability or overpowering the image.

If all that isn't enough here is another reason why I deserve an "A" on my Final Portfolio

.This is a picture of me and my sister at Niagara Falls. This is another example of amazing flow.
Around 150,000 gallons go over the falls every second.

.This is an example of "Rigor" in my paper. I would say it took rigorous thought to think of how to include all of these rules with just a selfie. I also this this post requires deep thought.

.A example of a rigorous thought process is contemplating the question "Is the cup on the right half full or half empty?"

I just demonstrated having rigorous thought about a question that is on a cup containing Rigor. If that's not rigorous thought I don't know what is.

.After viewing this picture you are now mindful  that you are in a mindful state currently.

These are the champions of a gaming league called "Complexity" They can be seen holding a trophy. So by definition they are Masters of Complexity. Therefore my paper include a mastery of complexity.

FINAL PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

Technical Requirements

__X__ This Cover Sheet must be completed and copy-and-pasted into Moodle as a description of your hypertext or Word document attachment for both your Draft1 and Final Portfolio.

__X_ The Final Portfolio must have your name written here: Chance Ramsey

_X__ Post this sheet and attached Word document or hyperlink by no later than 8:03 AM on Monday, December 8, 2014. Portfolios that are submitted after 8:03 but before 11:03 on Monday, December 8, 2014 will be penalized 50%. Other draft deadlines will be announced in class and noted on our calendar.

_X__ Include a “Note to Readers” that conveys to the reader how to engage the text. Explain how you use or why you do not use the “Note to Readers” in your portfolio? At the top of my blog I have a short note to the readers telling them what this blog was about. That way they aren't confused as to what the purpose of pictures is. I also included the rule sheet and graded rubric on the blog so the readers can see my explanation for each rule.

_X__ Please paste a “Note to Readers” here; it does not have to appear anywhere else: Welcome to my Final Portfolio Blogger. This is a Blog I made for my UWRT 1103 class. At the bottom of my page I posted the rule sheet I had to follow for this project. I hope this allows you to understand what my purpose in doing this was. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to message me by filling out the contact box at the bottom of the page on the left side. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy.

_X__ The portfolio must be electronically accessible via a Word document (please format according to syllabus) OR attached to the Moodle forum posting or via a hyperlink posted here (Blogger, Tumblr, Youtube, Wordpress and others with prior approval): http://cramseyfinalportfolio4uwrt1103.blogspot.com/

_X__ If using a Word document, use Microsoft Word document format .doc or .docx, version 2007 or later. It should not be larger than 5,000 KB. Please note the file size here: I am not using a word document.

_X__ Fonts should be standard, clear and legible. Font colors should contrast with background and font color to ensure readability. Paragraph-sized text should be in a very dark font on a very light background, preferably black on white. Explain why you chose the fonts you chose here: I chose the font i did because i felt that it was the most appealing as well as the easiest to read. Anything smaller would require eye strain and anything bigger would be distracting and take away from my pictures which are the main focus.

_X__ Color should be used to enhance your text but without disrupting readability or overpowering the other images. Explain how you use color in your portfolio here: I chose a black background because it made the article easy to read. A brighter color could be distracting and unprofessional. I had multiple pictures which helped the reader stay interested. I also edited the original selfie to look like it was much warmer outside. It almost makes the reader glow without being overpowering or distracting. This editing of the original selfie allowed the reader to visualize what we did from a slightly different perspective. This is beneficial to many while at the same time not disrupting anyone else's experience viewing the website.

_X__ If you choose to use a template to create a blog, please document the name of the template here with link if possible: The template i chose to use is called "Awesome inc." I couldn't post a link because it is one of the ones offered by blogger.com. In order to see the template link you would have be logged into blogger.

_X__ If you use animation or videos of any sort, be sure that they do not take an excessive amount of time to load (excessive being more than 5 seconds) or watch (2 minutes max for entire portfolio). Explain how you use animation, videos or movement in your portfolio here: I used movement in my portfolio in many ways. One way I did this was by taking the selfie next to a water fountain in a pond. The fountain moves water which is shown in my selfie. Movement can also be shown in the ripple's in the water in my picture where I reflect on this years writing. Movement can also be seen on my chest in the selfie. And last but not least movement can be seen as I have work from the beginning through the end of this semester. The papers in the picture demonstrate how I have grown as a writer and a student and therefor showcase the movement of my writing ability.

__X_ Images should be of reasonable quality and size and should be titled, described and credited with captions that stand out in a slightly different font than the rest of the text. Explain how you used captioning and crediting of images in your portfolio here: I used captioning to explain what the picture's purpose was. That way the reader wasn't confused as to what the picture meant. I posted the link next to the pictures that I did not take myself.

Content Requirements:

__X_ The portfolio must include more than one image. Explain how you use images here: My blog contains more than half a dozen images.

_X__ The portfolio must include music. Explain how your portfolio uses music here: In my selfie I held the sheet music to the song selfie. So why it is intended to make the viewer laugh at the irony it is also a valid and legitate way to include this rule smoothly. This could also be considered having good flow since it is has a smooth flow to it.

__X_ The portfolio must include movement. Explain how your portfolio uses movement here: I used movement in my portfolio in many ways.

__X_ The portfolio must include alphabetic writing. Explain how you use alphabetic writing here: My portfolio contains alphabetic writing in numerous ways. One way it does this is by the writing done on the blog. This is illustrated best by the title and by my captions. Another way it uses alphabetic writing is the writing on the papers in the selfie and other pictures.

_X__ The portfolio must be interactive. Explain how your portfolio is interactive here: The portfolio is interactive because there is a survey that the reader can participate in. This is extremely interactive for the viewer. Also the viewer can click on my pictures for a bigger view.

_X__ The portfolio must reflect on writing you have done this semester. Explain how your portfolio reflects on writing you have done this semester: This is best illustrated by the picture I take of my papers over the pond. The papers demonstrate my work throughout the year. A reflection of my papers can be seen in the pond. Therefor I am reflecting on my writing throughout this year. Also it reflects on my writing process because on several occasions i wrote parts of my paper at or near the spot the selfie's where taken.

__X_ The portfolio must demonstrate your best writing abilities. Explain where your best writing abilities are demonstrated here: The blog itself showcases my best work. It shoes my second drafts of papers that where revised and edited from the precious copies. Therefor the papers i wrote where some of the best ever. Also my story on pirates was in the selfie. That was my highest scoring draft two of a paper. Therefor my best writing abilities were showcased. Also the writing on my blog is some of my best work.

__X_ The portfolio must include something from Paper 1. Explain how your portfolio includes something from Paper 1 here: In my selfie my friend is holding my paper one draft two. Also I can be seen holding a miniature globe. The Earth globe is symbolic of my first paper titles "The Runaway Marble'. Which is referring to aliens finding earth.

_X__ The portfolio must include something from Paper 2. Explain how your portfolio includes something from Paper 2 here: My friend is also holding my paper two draft two in the selfie.

_X__ The portfolio must include something from the SLIP. Explain how your portfolio includes something from the SLIP here: Like my other two papers my friend can be seen holding one of my favorite slips. In the picture the one held is about my experience at the NC State fair and the questions i had in regard to unhealthy foods.

_X__ All cited sources and components used must be credited to their author(s), preferably by a direct link to the primary electronic text used or a standard bibliographic citation for a hard copy text. Artifacts must be described or pictured. Please be mindful in choosing your sources. Explain how outside sources function in your portfolio here: The only outside sources I have are some of the pictures in a post. The links are given to the photos so credit is given where it is due.
